About the Band

Santa Monica - based Waiting For Betsy sprang forth from the slightly twisted minds of four of rock’s greatest practitioners. Well, they’re tall, anyway.

In any case, lead singer and songwriter BDE, drummer Raven, bass player extraordinaire T-Man and guitarist Billy Ash (rhymes with Slash) love making music more than beer itself.

Here’s how it all got started: While the men worked tirelessly day after day raising dairy cows in Vermont, every night found them in the barn, jamming on their instruments while eating jam and bread.

As the band rocked out night after night, the resident prize-winning cow, Betsy, actually started mooing along. (Seriously, she turned out to be a pretty good tenor.) And the band’s moniker was born.

At some point, when they realized that their music had become the most important thing in their lives (or anyone else’s lives, for that matter), they decided to leave Vermont, and Betsy, and go seek fortune and fame in California.

These days, the newly energized Waiting For Betsy is adjusting to beach life with no livestock (so sad), and is now tirelessly devoting its time to the evolution of kick-ass crabby music for the masses. And to the welfare of overcrowded goldfish. Don’t ask.

So that’s the story. The rest is the rest.
